Film followed by a Panel Discussion

This film is a close-up on Women in the Art World today and addresses many of the hurdles that women face in their creative life.  Pamela Tanner Boll, Academy Award winner for her film, Born Into Brothels, directed this feature documentary with Nancy C. Kennedy.  The film follows five women artists and examines the choices they make to achieve their professional and personal goals.  Interviews with experts such as Riane Eisler, Maura Reilly and the Guerrilla Girls present a cultural context showing the sacrifices and challenges facing female artists who become mothers.  Both Boll and Kennedy have produced several other award-winning films and documentary projects.  A Panel discussion with artists/mothers: Jill Bonovitz (painter); Kathy Stevenson (author); Gerry Tuten (painter); Laura Katz Rizzo (Dancer) Moderator: Ru Freeman (writer)
